Dark Long Red

S. melongena. Good flavor, sweet and hearty. Seedy. Fruit are uniformly light purple, slightly curved and elongated. Fruit measure 5-9" long, 1.4-2" wide, and weigh 2.5-5.7oz. Fruit born in clusters of 1-3. Golden when seed mature. Purple flowers. Moderately branched plants have purple and green stems. Plants measure 1.6-2.4' tall. Green leaves have dark violet petioles and veins. No lodging. Mid season maturity.
