Green deer's tongue. Leaves grow erect with a slightly drooping tip. Leaf shape is triangular with a rounded tip. Good eating qualities. Leaves are tender, sweet, crisp, and juicy. Leaves measure 7-9" long by 3-5" wide at market maturity. Plants reach 7-9" tall by 8-9" wide at market maturity. Black seeded. Mid-season maturing. Uniform plants. Donated to SSE by Stan Heymann (CA HE S), who obtained the variety from the Henry Doubleday Research Association (HDRA) in England. This variety was reportedly in one family for generations.
