Aztec Dwarf Red

Beautiful red amaranth that produces a graceful, dense red spike that is partially dropping. Plants have red stems, red petioles and green and purple leaves; Variety has a tendency to lodge. Grows 3-6 feet tall. This variety is slightly variable and can sometimes produce more wild looking plants that are very tall with pink flowers. This variety came to SSE from Charlotte Hagood (AL HA C), who acquired it from from J. L. Hudson seed company (CV Hud) in the mid-1980s. SSE Accession # 100162
