English bittersharp cider variety. Small, round, red fruit covered with some russet. Juicy, tart flesh. Blooms late. Ripens mid-October. Stores well. Requires a pollinator. Zones 4-9. Original Foxwhelp variety was named after Foxwhelp Farms in Healdsburg and first recorded in 1854. It is suspected the original variety is gone; the origin of the current Foxwhelp is unknown.
