SSE: Large apples, light green/light yellow striped with red turning purple, juicy, crispy flesh, excellent subacid flavor, best quality for fresh eating. FBN4: Large, round, often flattened, greenish yellow fruit flushed and striped pinkish red with a delicate bloom and occasional russet patches. Fine grained, rather firm, very tender, crisp, juicy yellowish flesh. Tart, aromatic, subacid flavor. Excellent, all-purpose apple, except for drying and cider. Keeps into March; May, if temperature regulated. Remarkably fresh after long storage. Very large, vigorous, productive, upright tree; tends to bear biennially. Blooms late. Takes about 12 years to bear. fire blight resistant. Requires pollination. Ripens in late October. 800-1000 chill hours. Zones 3-9.
