Medium to large size with slightly roundish oblate form. Skin: yellow covered entirely with dark red/purple, attractive. Flesh whitish, slightly tinged with yellow, firm, somewhat coarse to fine texture, juicy, aromatic, subacid to sweet, good dessert and market use. Very late in season. Originated from seed brought from Tennessee and planted in 1831 near Lawrenceville, Illinois; brought to notice about 1868. SSE Accession # 100480 NCGR-Geneva
