Ohio Pippin

Fruit large to very large, roundish oblate, somewhat conical, irregular; surface smooth, yellow, sometimes with mottled red blush; dots small, gray; cavity wide, wavy or regular, russeted; stem short, stout; flesh yellowish, tender, juicy, pleasant, sharp subacid, good kitchen apple. November, January. Tree vigorous and large spreading; moderately productive. Originated at Dayton, Ohio; discovered by Dr. Job Haines; recorded in 1856. SSE Accession # 100697
