This variety was stewarded for many years by Cleo and Perry Miller, who operated a nursery in Union, Iowa. They shared it with their niece Jeanne Phipps, who also began growing the beans. Jeanne's son, Michael Phipps, donated seeds to SSE in 1990. He said they can be used as a snap or dry bean. SSE Accession # 102859
