Kidney, Seneca (G's)

Bush/dry. Cooked beans are smooth and have good flavor. Compact plants have pink flowers. Long straight pods measure 4.6-6.3 long and 0.6 wide, with a long beak. Mature pods turn yellow with a red dash pattern. 4-5 seeds per pod. Large light red kidney shaped seeds. This bean is from Geraldine Green, a Seneca faith keeper of the Cattaraugus Reservation, New York. Seeds were donated to SSE in the mid 1990s by Lawrence Davis-Hollander.
