Woolly Kate

Single Image
VEGETABLES / TOMATO
OTHER-COLORED
Other-colored. 75-80 days. Indet. regular leaf, 2-4 oz. blue-purple fruit with yellow on blossom end, round fruits with blue-purple especially on shoulders. Seeds given to Gary Ibsen of Tomato Fest in 2015 by Gary Cass from the Big Island of Hawaii who has been working with this variety as part of a project working with L. Hirsutum flavors tied to natural pest and disease resistances. Apparently the woolly types are from a mutation that was found in a field of Rutgers. The branches and some of the fruit are fuzzy (like peach fuzz) and some are smooth yellow flesh. Very good flavor.
