Green deer tongue. Smooth, triangular leaves curl downwards. Crunchy midrib, crisp leaves, tender, mild flavor. Plants reach 5-6" tall and 9-11" wide. Average bolting resistance. Black seed. Donated to SSE in 1991 by Nancy Hendrikson (OH HE N) who listed this variety in the 1990 SSE Yearbook Exchange. She described it as a strain from the Czech community in Cedar Rapids, Iowa which has been grown by her Great Aunt Rose and family for almost 100 years. SSE Accession # 111802
