C. annuum. Pimento pepper. Smooth, green, conical fruit mature to an attractive deep red color. Fruit taper to a fine point. Good flavor. Sweet with little to no heat. Thick, firm flesh. Mature fruit measure 4.5-5.5" long by 2-2.5" wide. Plants grow 2-3' tall with few branches and an erect growth habit. Large, dark green leaves and stems with purple nodes. Sparse pubescence on stems and leaves. White flowers with inserted stigmas. High productivity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Some lodging. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE by Kenneth Harris (VA HA K) who acquired this variety from his aunt in 1987. She purchased the original pepper in 1976 at a marketplace in Irelize, Turkey while abroad and brought the seeds home to Alabama. SSE Accession # 116499
