Pole/dry. Large, creamy beans have good flavor and hold together well when cooked. Moderately climbing plants have purple flowers. Stout, wide, green pods mature to pale yellow with a dark pink dash pattern. Fully expanded pods measure 5.0-6.0" long and 0.6-0.7" wide. 5-6 seeds per pod. Cranberry type seeds with a dark purple dash pattern. Above average productivity when grown on Heritage Farm in 2018. Dry pods late August. Donated to SSE by John Coykendall (TN CO J) who received this variety from J. R. Staples, Jr. (NY ST J). Mr. Staples received the bean variety in 1995 from the late Mary Schultz (WA SC M) who indicated this variety is from Hungary. SSE Accession # 104717
