VEGETABLES / SWISS-CHARD
In general this is a medium-green chard with an upright growth habit and slightly blistered leaves, though this is a highly variable variety. Some have dark green leaves, some have yellow-green leaves, some are somewhere in the middle. The petioles range in color from whitish-green to green. There is also some variation in plant height and bolting time. Most plants are glabrous, though one has hairy leaves. The leaf shape is either lanceolate or ovate. In 2021 evaluator Tammy Laverty described the taste as "mild but flavorful; [the leaves] stayed tender even when they were quite big." SSE Accession # 121245
