Grandpa's Leaf

Attractive, red-green looseleaf. Has characteristics of a crisphead: some plants form a head while most do not, or only a very loose one. Moderate red pigmentation, especially on inner leaves. Leaves are moderately blistered and undulating. Good eating qualities. Tender, sweet leaves are not bitter. Inner leaves are buttery. Leaves measure 6-8" long by 7-9" wide at market maturity. Plants reach 6-8" tall by 12-15" wide. Uniform plants. Mid-season maturing. White seeded. SSE Accession # 112198
