Greek Giant

Tall, striking plants with dark amaranthine inflorescences. Primarily green leaves with light pink petioles. Pink stems with slender side branches. 5-6.5' tall at Heritage Farm but others report plants up to 8' tall. Susceptible to lodging. Black seeds. This variety came to SSE from Joseph Philip (PA PH J), who shared it in the SSE Yearbook Exchange during the 2000s; from the island of Crete in Greece. SSE Accession # 100136
