Red Surrey

Dark orange, long, tapered roots with a pointed end. Highly uniform. Smooth texture. Rounded to conical stem end with minor green coloration. Slight tendency to crack. Orange core. Roots measure 3.8-6.8" long by 0.7-1.1" wide and weigh 0.6-1.8 oz.. Raw carrots are moderately sweet with a pleasant, floral flavor. Slightly drier and grainy texture, but still crisp. Cooked carrots have a very nice earthy flavor. Sweet, with a dense texture. Donated to SSE by John Wyncoll (ENGL WY J) who indicated this is an old CV. SSE Accession # 106916
