Peredovik (Ussery's Strain) Black Oil Sunflower

Ussery's Strain was adapted from Peredovik which Mr Harvey Ussery originally obtained from SESE. Over the next 10 years Harvey selected for SINGLE, large heads with plump seeds and resistance to lodging. His goal was to develop a strain that was suited to feeding poultry from mid-summer to fall. Large single heads on thick stalks that range from 4-6' in height. Will occasionally produce stalks with multiple flower heads which I cull to continue the selection process started by Harvey over 10 years ago.
