Large, pink beefsteak tomato. Excellent flavor. High acid. Indeterminate growth habit. Standard leaves. Flattened fruit shape with a strongly recessed stem end. Strongly ribbed fruit, especially at stem end. Cat-facing at blossom end is very common. Often three fruit per cluster. Fruit reach 2.5-3.5" long; 4-6" wide; and weigh 1-2lbs. Brix score: 5.9. Inserted flower stigma. Mid-season maturing. Low productivity when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE in 2012 by George Ellen Gay-Swinford of Milan, IN. George Ellen first acquired seeds for the variety from her brother, Clay Asher of Wyandotte, Michigan “about 44 years ago” (c. 1968). Clay received seeds for the variety from a school teacher who taught at the school where Clay was principal. When she shared the seeds with Clay, the teacher indicated that her family, back to her grandparents, had been saving seed for the variety for 100 years. She also told Clay that her grandparents emigrated from either Yugoslavia or Hungary and brought the tomato seeds with them. SSE Accession # 131751
