Chantenay type. Mild flavor, reminiscent of parsnips. Triangular, orange roots taper to a point. Rounded to conical shoulder shape. Some roots are larger and more slender than others. Roots measure 3-5" long, 1.2-1.6" wide and weigh 1.5-3.0oz. Uniform in color. Smooth skin. Moderately wide orange core. Low cracking/splitting tendency. Upright, moderately leafy plants measure 1.5-2.0' tall. Roots buried deep in the soil. Low bolting tendency. Brix 8.3. This variety was donated to SSE by Garald Pettersen (CA PE G) in the mid 2000s. It's a historic commercial variety originally introduced by C.C. Morse & Company in 1929. SSE Accession # 107088
