Red Creole C-5

Short-day, dark red onion. Bulbs semi-globes. Flesh is white with red rings. Bred for hot, humid conditions in the Deep South. When grown in those conditions, it has a high solids content and is flavorful, pungent, and an excellent storage onion. The 1941-1942 Annual Report of the Agricultural Experiment Station of Louisiana State University says it "has proved to be an excellent variety for dehydration for the army and Lend-Lease" SSE Accession # 133223
