Emily's pre-Civil War

This is a white okra type with nice flavor. It produces an absolutely beautiful pod that has some prickle to it but has good tenderness. It makes huge plants and has medium to good production. The raw okra has a wonderful floral taste. This was acquired by Emily Brewer of Blount Co., TN from an feller that never left his name but got it from an man in his 90s quite some time ago and said it had been grown in his family since before the civil war. So my good friend John Coykendall and I always just called it "Emily's pre-Civil War Okra"
