Egyptian Improved

Variable beet variety with medium-large, spherical roots. Flavor is pleasantly sweet, neutral and earthy but not overpowering. Roots can be between 3-8 oz, 2-3 inches long and 2-3 inches in diameter. Flesh is purple with thin light purple rings. Skin can be red or purple and very rough. Beets grow half submerged in the ground and do not have grooves or split. SSE Accession # 106448
