Kidney, New Hampshire Red

Donated to SSE in 1981 by bean collector John Withee of Lynnfield, Massachusetts and the Wanigan Associates. Withee received the variety circa 1969 from Prof. Elwyn Meader of the University of New Hampshire. This variety, introduced around 1946, was the result of a UNH selection process on a local New Hampshire variety called 'Elisha Smith.' SSE Accession # 101049
