VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-BUSH
90/dry days, semi runner dry bean. 90 days dry. Short viney, productive, sprawling plants produce pods from 3.5-4.75" x 1/2". Seeds are small, about navy bean size. Unusual but pretty seedcoat of yellow-tan in color with a light red figure around the eye that trails away from the eye on one side. A stable outcross discovered and named by me in 1979. The bean is also referenced in my bean book "Hill Of Beans" a copy of which can be found in the Heritage Farm Library and on my website at www.abeancollectorswindow.com. The sister companion bean to Choctaw found among a grow out of the round and yellow seeded bush bean "Sulphur" A.K.A. "China Yellow" that I had obtained from John Withee's Wanigan Associates in 1978. Reacquired seed of this bean from IA SSE HF '11 O.S. IL CR R 79, SSE Bean 2660.
