This bean was introduced into the 1992 SSE Yearbook Exchange by Bill Hankin (AUSL HA B) of the Heritage Seed Curators Association in Lobethal, South Australia, Australia. At that time, Hankin indicated this was a rare Mexican variety not listed commercially in Australia or North America. SSE Accession # 103710
