Varner

Bush snap bean. Green, round, slightly curved pods, 4.5-5" long. Good flavor, texture. 5-7 seeds per pod. Chocolate brown, oval shaped seeds. Moderately productive. Bud Varner of Hollandale, MN shared this variety with SSE member Jim Tjepkema (MN TJ J). Originally thought to have been from a commercial source, it has been grown by Mr. Varner’s mother since at least the 1950s - however beyond that, its origins have been lost. Jim Tjepkema donated seeds to SSE circa 1990. SSE Accession # 103168
