(C. pepo) 100 days. This classic Halloween pumpkin dates back to pre-1700 where it was grown by Native American settlers in New England in cornfields and residential gardens. Bright-orange fruits average around 15-20 pounds each and range in shape from tall to wider flat-topped fruits. Sprawling growth habit with attractively large blossoms and dark-green leaves. Can be used for making pies, for fall decorations, and for carving. Is the parent of the widely renown New England Sugar Pie Pumpkin.
