Swiss Gablie Bona

Vines mostly prostrate, with a slight climbing tendency. White flowers with faint violet streaking. Short pods, 3-5" long and 0.8" wide. Pods partially erect. High pod set. Cream-colored, globose seeds with brown eyes. 8-15 seeds per pod. Dry cowpeas are slightly sweet with a good, firm texture when cooked. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE by Jesse Yoakam. The variety was brought to Ohio from Switzerland by Yoakam's great-grandparents. Yoakam stated the name means "Ladie beans" in English. SSE Accession # 108811
