Longhorn

Plants 2.5-3' tall. Long and slender green pods, slightly curved. Downy pods with 6-9 ridges. Slight lodging on all plants. Green leaves with red veins. Petioles red above and green below. Seed mature pods reach 9.5-11" long, 1" in diameter. Best eaten under 6". Subtle flavor, slightly floral. Late maturing. Donated to SSE by Mrs. P.G. Hollingshead. This variety was grown in the Atchison family for many years. Originally from an old timer in Baytown, TX. SSE Accession # 113991
