Flame Tongue

Single Image
VEGETABLES / PEPPER
HOT
Extremely hot chili pepper. (Hotter than a blister on a sun-spot!) Size and shape variable: tongue-shaped and 1 to 1 1/2 long. Also: short, plump cones, 3/8 to 1/2 in, and, long, narrow, 1/2 to 1 long. Upright fruits. Light green, scarlet ripe. Short 18 to 22", round to hedge-shaped dwarf plants. Bred for growing in pots! I start them in 4" pots because they grow and mature so fast. Begins to bloom in less than 40 days!! Fruits come in 45-50 days. Ripen in 60 days. Utterly resistant to TM. Survives well in greenhouse. My main plant is now 7-8 years old! Flowers are white to greenish white, with dark brownish-green splotches on petal bases. Typical C. chinensis, - baccatum traits. History: I began breeding 20 years ago. Original variety, commercial hybrid "Thai Dragon" capsicum anum. In my work, it has crossed with, C. chinensis, and C. baccatum. Therefore, I as a life-long botanist, I consider this plant to be in a species of its own. Capsicum trotterii.
