VEGETABLES / PEPPER
HOT
C. annuum. A hot pepper. Fruit shaped like a cayenne pepper, 3.5-5" long, yellow when ripe, fairly early maturing. Plants vigorous, productive. According to Joseph Klein, who grew this variety for the 2020 Collection Documentation Project, the unripe green fruits "have a crisp and delicious green chile taste", while the fully ripe fruit have an "incredible fruity flavor" and are "among the hottest peppers I've ever tasted." He noted that the variety "would probably be a great alternative to habanero types for growers in cooler climates or with shorter seasons." SSE Accession # 117591
