Donated to SSE in 1981 by bean collector John Withee of Lynnfield, Massachusetts and the Wanigan Associates. Withee acquired this variety from the late, Vernon Harmon of West Bowdoin, Maine in the mid-1970s. It was described in the Wanigan Associates catalog as “a strikingly marked pole bean.” SSE Accession # 101105
