VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-BUSH
Bush/Dry. 85 dry days. Smaller plants than most bush varieties. Slim oval green pods 5.5-6" long. Can be used as snap beans when picked young. Dry beans can be used in soups. Appearance of the pods reminded me a lot of the thin French haricot varieties such as Regal Fin and Zebrinel. Slender kidney shaped seed is three toned. Dark brown mottled with buff at one end of the seed and over the eye. A diagonal feathered blend line roughly near the center of the seed. At the point of the blend line the seed turns to all white. Grows beautifully in my Zone 5 Illinois climate. Cultivated in New Mexico and popular in the southwest. Source History: Azure Dandelion '11
