Romanova

Evaluated at Heritage Farm in 2025, description in progress. This accession came to SSE in the early 1990s from Howard Krosch (MN KR H). Howard’s donation letter explained the background of this heavy yielding paste tomato: "The variety is an Italian commercial variety. A packet of Romanova seeds was brought back from Italy by a fellow who works for 3M & frequently travels abroad on business. This person gave the seeds to an acquaintance at 3M who does some market gardening. That person contracted with a friend of mine (now deceased) named Jack Brewster, who had a small commercial greenhouse, to start tomato plants, and Jack gave me a couple of tomato plants and a part packet of seeds.
