Variety is best eaten as a snow pea. Pods have optimum flavor and texture before the seeds are fully expanded. Pods are sweet and flavorful and not fibrous. Dry peas are rather dry and bland. Vigorous climber. Vines 2.5-4' tall and little branching. Green pods are straight and flat and edible. Mature pods average 2.9-3.5" long and 0.5-0.7"wide and have 6-9 peas per pod. 1-2 pods per peduncle. Non-shattering type. White flowers and normal leaves. Yellowish to light green seeds are semi-wrinkled. Mid to late season maturing and moderate productivity when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. Obtained by SSE from Will Bonsall (ME BO W), who received the variety from Charles Swenson of Iowa.
