Cherry-brown dent corn. Kernel color resembles dried blood, hence the name. Plants 6-8 feet tall. No tillering. One, sometimes two ears per plant. Ears 6-8 inches long, 1.7-2 inches wide. Red cobs. Cylindrical ears. A small percentage of ears are fasciated. 14 kernel rows per ear. Kernel color ranges from a dark cherry brown to a light burnt orange. Silks mostly green, sometimes red. Relatively high number of tassel ears. Originally from the late Ernest Strubbe of Alberta, MN, who developed and bred his own corn varieties from the 1920s until his passing in 1986.
