Purple Top Strap Leaf

Long-top, green, lyrate leaves with open growth habit. Roots largely above soil line. Round, blocky roots averaging 4.5" length, 4" diameter, 1.7lbs. White fleshed roots are bicolor with purple on the top and white on the bottom. BRIX reading 7.0. Texture is somewhat softer. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a nice spice. Leave them until after a frost to sweeten up! Donated to SSE by Hal Bridges (GA BR H) who acquired it from CV Shu in 1998. SSE Accession # 127697
