Pole lima. Large, white, flat seeds have delicious flavor. A staff favorite and winner of 2017 dry lima bean taste evaluations. Beans are sweet, flavorful, and earthy with a creamy texture. Seed donor, Bruce Adams, claims that "an easternshoreman can identify the special flavor of this bean without being told," and we can believe it! Pods average almost 4" long and 1" wide and contain 3 seeds each. Late maturing. Donated to SSE by J. Bruce Adams of Tennessee. This type of lima bean was traditionally grown on the Eastern Shore, aka the Delmarva Peninsula of Delaware, Maryland & Virginia. Given to J. Bruce Adams' father, Edward Adams, circa 1930 by Mr. Pilchard of Pocomoke City, MD. Grown by Mr. Pilchard since the late 1800s. SSE Accession # 112819
