Golden yellow globe tomato. Unique flavor, bright acidity, some sweetness, firm, juicy texture. Highly productive and uniform. Fruit measure 2-3" wide and weigh 4-7oz. Medium sized plants produce many fruit usually in pairs but range from 1-3. Plants measure 5-5.5' tall. Indeterminate. Regular leaves. Mid season maturity. Brix 4.8. This tomato variety was bred by the University of Minnesota in the late 1930s and became an All-America Selections winner in 1940. SSE member Bruce Swanson (MN SW B) shared this variety with SSE circa 2007. Swanson had received it from Craig LeHoullier (NC LE C), who had acquired seeds from the USDA GRIN collection (PI 644800).
