VEGETABLES / OKRA
This variety is non-uniform. Okra pods and stems can be red, pink, or green. Early leaves are variegated pink and green, fading to green. The plant growth habit and leaf structure also varies. The pods are spiny, slender, and distinctly ridged. They are edible up to 4.7" long. The pink and red okra pods are more fibrous than the green ones. Mid to late maturing. Grown by Cristy Yarborough, Deyna Chisolm, and Sarah Johnson in 2021 for the Collection Documentation Project; their experiences differed with respect to plant size, vigor, and productivity. Their overall ratings of the variety ranged from "good" to "excellent." Cristy noted that she "really loved this variety" and thought if would be suitable for front yard edible landscaping.
