SNAP-POLE
Pole/snap. Good flavor and texture. Moderately sweet and juicy. Some strings. Short, green immature pods are slightly curved. Fully expanded pods measure 3.8-5.0" and 0.3-0.5" wide. Pods mature to yellow-green. 6-7 seeds per pod. Medium-small oval white seeds. Moderately climbing plants have white flowers. Early maturing. Average productivity when grown on Heritage Farm in 2018. John Trammell of Grand Junction, Colorado donated this variety to SSE in 1991. John's donation letter stated: "they were the beans that my father's family was growing in eastern Tennessee when my mother first met her new in-laws ca. 1920." John remembered that during his own childhood in Kentucky, they grew them every year. John's mother always called them the "Trammell beans" since they'd been in the family for "some time." Used by the family as a snap bean. SSE Accession # 103567
