Sunnybrook, Burpee's

Dark green fruit with pale green stripes from blossom end. White spines on prominently elevated bumps. Glossy fruit. Moderate ribbing. Market mature fruit 5-7" long and 1.6-2.5" wide. Yellow seed mature fruit, 7.5-9.5" long and 2.5-3.3" wide. Standard flavor; good texture; firm, crunchy; slightly thick skin; not bitter. Mid-season maturing. Introduced by W. Atlee Burpee Co in 1936 and promoted by them as an all purpose variety for pickling when small, or slicing when fully grown. SSE Accession # 109168
