Bush habit. Solid maroon to black seeds belie its name. Original seed donor said seeds are sometimes mottled but we haven't seen that. Small pods, 2.5-3.5 inches long. Two or three seeds per pod. Seeds can be hard-seeded. Below average productivity at Heritage Farm. Late maturing. Average flavor. SSE Accession # 112598
