95 or 110+ days, depending on weather and sun. Sprawling 3' bush or sometimes 4' to 8' (on fence, trellis, poles, weeds, trees) with better yield. Tolerates part shade and drought. 4-5" very skinny straight pods, drying to dark purplish brown, point up first then down when mature, ALMOST always ripens here, no pests. Dark reddish brown seed, 1/4"x3/16"x 1/8", tastes and looks like azuki. Most reliable best tasting cowpea. Only crop failure since 1994 was in 2015 - floods in June then cold dry and did not mature. Small crop during 2016 drought (they stayed as bushes instead of 4' vines). In 2017 in shade ripened very late and poorly. Will send 25 seeds from 2020 or 2021 seed.
