Rossa D'Amerique

A beautiful, vigorous, red-green, curly leaf lettuce that sometimes forms a loose, elliptic head at maturity but is typically a looseleaf. In 2020, 4 of 9 plants formed a loose head at Heritage Farm. Leaves are curly with moderate blistering and very slight toothing. Flavor is bitter and a little astringent with a chewy texture. Plants are vigorous and typically grow between 15-18 inches wide and 9-10 inches high. Matures in mid-season and bolts late. SSE Accession # 111710
