Harvest Moon

A chance rootstock seedling. A Reliance peach tree froze to the ground one very cold winter. The next spring this peach tree grew up from the roots. Peach is hardy to at least -27°F. Peach seed usually produces trees which are true to type, although there is a possibility that it may have cross pollinated with other peaches growing nearby. Medium to large peaches are lemon colored with a red blush. The yellow orange flesh is sweet and juicy with a fruity flavor and is freestone. I named this peach Harvest Moon as it ripens later than Reliance in early to mid September near the time of the full moon. (12 seeds)
