Very pretty, reddish-pink, triangular roots with broad shoulders tapering to a point. Roots become very large if left in the ground and tend to branch at the base. Traditionally used as a fodder crop, but can be eaten when young. Fair flavor. Flesh has alternating white and rose-colored concentric rings. Green tops, red streaked midribs and petioles.
