VEGETABLES / CORN
FLINT
Early maturing flint corn with variation in kernel color and some genetic impurities. Half of ears are solid yellow or orange-yellow. About one in ten ears have entirely red or red-orange kernels. A small percentage of ears have both white and yellow kernels. There are some recessive sweet corn genetics present which should be rogued if saving seed from this variety. Other ears have kernels with denting which should be rogued as well. Kernel arrangement on the ears ranges from regular (most common) to irregular. Ear shape is cylindrical to cylindrical-conical. Poor husk cover. Cobs can be white or red. 8-12 kernel rows, with 10 being most common. All kernels are large and flint type. Plants range from 8-9 feet tall. Most plants do not have tillers.
