Madras Sweet Pod

Produces crisp, spicy green seed pods on stalks that get to 7' tall. Does not produce edible roots. Pods best when small and firm, 1 1/2" long. Plants are spindly and need support but can be closely crowded in a tall cage.. Variety originally from Java, then India, and came to the US in the mid 19th century.
